Position Profile:
The Hunger Project is seeking application from competent, dynamic and self-motivated individuals to fill up the Fund Raising and Proposal Development Manager to advance the activities in Bangladesh.This is a senior level management position and will work closely with the Country Director and the senior management team of The Hunger Project-Bangladesh with overall responsibility of ensuring that the organisation effectively raises financial resources from a diverse source. The position would be responsible for developing high quality project proposals for strengthening local government, women empowerment, youth mobilization, promoting social harmony and good governance.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The main purpose of this position is to raise and manage funds for The Hunger Project and manage the fundraising activities. The person has to develop fundraising proposals for different development partners and developing effective and efficient procedures, systems, and tools for fundraising strategy will be a part of the job. Others responsibilities include:
  • Develop and implement fund raising strategy appropriate for The Hunger Project.
  • Search and identifying new sources of funding opportunities.
  • Prepare proposals, concept notes, business plans where needed.
  • Develop and maintain contacts with different types of funding sources.
  • Track funding opportunities.
  • Work in collaboration with the programme, monitoring & evaluation team to develop creative and effective communication and branding materials;
  • Support the writing of program reports and technical documents.
Education:
  • Master’s degree in economics, development studies or other related fields from social sciences. English medium background and degree from foreign university will be preferred.
Experiences and Competencies for Successful Candidate:
  • Excellent English language speaking and writing skills is a prerequisite.
  • Expert level competency with Microsoft word, Excel, Power point, Outlook.
  • Minimum of  8-10  years of professional work experience in fund raising activities.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing, writing successful funding proposals in relevant fields.
  • A socially active person having good networking skills.
  • Excellent understanding of log frames and theory of change necessary for proposal development.
  • An effective team player.
  • Good analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills.
  • Sets high standards for quality of work and consistently achieve the targets.
  • Sound knowledge of local government, good governance, human rights, and women empowerment.
  •  Ability to work effectively in groups and independently; demonstrated initiative and   creativity when solving problems.
  • Proven track record of  reporting, fund raising and data analysis.
  • Ability to effectively present different types of report for a diverse range of audience.
